I had sex 3 weeks ago. And im 2 weeks late. Im sure my partner used a condom. Over 3 years ago i would get my period one month but not the next. Could this be happening again or could i be pregnant?
If you used a condom correctly, the whole time you were having sex, and without any problems, its really unlikely that youre pregnant.
It sounds like youve had irregular periods in the past, so its possible youre experiencing that again. How Soon Before Or After A Period Can A Person Become Pregnant
Fertility increases sharply around 1214 days before menstruation, so unprotected sex is more likely to result in pregnancy during that time.
It is unlikely but possible that conception will occur in the 1 or 2 days following a period since sperm can survive for up to 7 days after sex.

A late or missed menstrual period is a sign of pregnancy or the menopausal transition, and a late period can also occur as a response to hormonal changes and disturbances. Painful sexual intercourse can be associated with many gynecologic infections and pelvic inflammatory disease. Changes In Your Periods
Your periods can change for example, they may last longer or get lighter. This does not necessarily mean there’s a problem, but it does need to be investigated.

“Usually 1-2 weeks following the missed period,” says Dr. Trolice. “This is 5-6 weeks estimated gestational age.”
Did you know that when you’re pregnant, your first week is the first week of your last period?

Can Hiv Affect The Menstrual Cycle
Many women experience irregularities in their menstrual cycles at various times. These include irregular periods, changes in menstrual flow and worsening of premenstrual symptoms, and may sometimes indicate an underlying health problem. Most menstrual changes reported by women living with HIV dont appear to have a direct link with the virus.
However, there is evidence to suggest that women living with HIV are more likely to experience missed periods . A wide-reaching analysis of international research conducted in the 1990s and early 2000s in almost 9000 women found that women living with HIV were 70% more likely to experience amenorrhea of more than three months.
A clinical study of 828 women from 1994-2002 also found that women living with HIV were more likely to have had unexplained amenorrhea for over a year compared with women not living with HIV. For over a third of women living with HIV, this amenorrhea was reversible.
The exact reasons for this continue to be debated. It remains unclear if amenorrhea is a complication of HIV infection itself or due to other risk factors that were more common among women with HIV at the time the data were collected, such as low body weight, immune suppression, or a combination of factors. As discussed above, a number of contraceptive treatments can stop you having periods. Other medicines can affect periods too. Examples are some medicines for schizophrenia , an anti-sickness medicine called metoclopramide and strong painkillers called opiates.A number of operations may result in absent periods.
