Combination pills have 2 hormones: estrogen and progestin. Combination pills are the most common type of birth control pill.
As long as you take 1 pill every day, youll be protected from pregnancy. You dont have to take your combination pill at the exact same time every day. But taking it at the same time is a good idea because it helps keep you in the habit of remembering your pill.
Progestin-Only Pills :
Progestin-only pills have 1 kind of hormone these pills dont have any estrogen. You must take your progestin-only pill within the same 3 hours every day to be protected from pregnancy.
The one exception is Slynd : you dont need to take Slynd within the same 3-hour window every day, but its best to take it around the same time if you can to help keep you on schedule.
The Combined Pill With Other Medicines
Some medicines interact with the combined pill and it does not work properly. Some interactions are listed on this page, but it is not a complete list. If you want to check your medicines are safe to take with the combined pill, you can:

Antibiotics

This one is especially important for sexually active women: Dont stop using protection your first month on birth control, because you can still get pregnant! Opting for back-up protection is your best and safest bet. If you take your first pill within five days of your period, youre protected immediately.
