Your Period On The Hormonal Iud
While using the hormonal IUD, itâs common to experience irregular bleeding or lighter bleeding, and some people donât bleed at all . This happens because the endometrium doesnât thicken as much as it does when youâre not using hormonal birth control. This typically results in lighter or occasionally absent bleeding, especially for people who have been using the hormonal IUD for many months or years .
Preparing For The Next Period
As the empty follicle shrinks, if the egg is not fertilized, levels of estrogen and progesterone decrease. Without the high levels of hormones to help maintain it, the thick womb lining that has been built up starts to break down, and your body sheds the lining. This is the start of your period and the beginning of your next menstrual cycle.
As the empty follicle shrinks, if the fertilized egg has not implanted into the womb, your level of progesterone decreases. The womb no longer needs to maintain an environment to support a baby so your body needs to reset ready for the next cycle. Any PMT symptoms that you have will start to decrease. If the egg has been fertilized and implanted into the womb, the empty follicle is maintained by the increasing level of pregnancy hormone . It continues to produce estrogen and progesterone for much longer until the placenta is mature enough to support the developing embryo. For illustration purposes only
If the egg has been fertilized, it may successfully implant itself into the womb lining. This usually takes place about a week after fertilization.
Why Are Retainers Important What Happens If You Dont Wear Them
It is important to wear your retainer as prescribed to stop your teeth from retreating back to how they were before braces. If you do not wear your retainer, your teeth can also shift into new positions.
Your teeth can become crooked again over time, leading to an increased risk of oral health issues like cavities and gum disease. Misaligned teeth are more difficult to clean.

But First The Basics What Is A Menstrual Cycle
A menstrual cycle is a monthly series of changes that takes place in womens bodies, and in the bodies of people who are biologically female and have reached puberty. Its supposed to prepare us for the possibility of pregnancy.
In a normal month, a single egg will be released from a persons ovaries in a process called ovulation. When this happens, the body will also release a lot of hormones that create changes in the body, preparing the uterus just in case the person is planning on trying for a baby that month. If the egg isnt fertilised, the lining of the uterus will shed through the persons vagina. This is the part that we all know as a period.
And Some Of The Donts Of Intermittent Fasting:
2. Do not add a lot of milk to your coffee. Only use half or teaspoon of milk when having tea or coffee. Milk does contain lactose which is sugar. This could derail the plan. Only use a small amount.
3. Use your fasting period to do stuff. Dont sit idle. Getting busy will stop you thinking about food.
4. Dont keep changing your feeding window if you are on the plan that allows food at certain times. If your eating window is between 12 Noon and 8pm, try and maintain that consistency every time. Its all about teaching your body to adapt to a new way of eating and fasting.
5. Do not go to social events where the place will be awash with food on your fast days. The temptation of having so many food choices and so much food around might be too much for you to resist.
6. On your feed days or eating window as the case may be, you should exercise caution in how much food you consume. Theres no need to stuff your face with so much food in an attempt to compensate for the fast period.
It is not a feast or famine ethos and you should refrain from seeing it as such. Eat sensibly!
Above all, be resilient. Its not as hard as it appears. Start small and build up.

Long Or Heavy Periods
Heavy bleeding is a sign to contact your healthcare provider. So what does “heavy” mean?
- Soaking one or more tampons or pads every hour for several hours in a row
- Wearing more than one pad at a time to absorb bleeding
- Having to change pads or tampons overnight
- Having periods that include blood clots the size of a quarter or larger
How Do I Choose A Pad Or Tampon That Is Right For Me
There are smaller, slender pads and tampons available that young women often prefer, particularly when they first start menstruating. You may find it helpful to use different products over the course of your period, with more absorbent tampons or pads being used on heavier flow days, and smaller tampons or pantiliners on low flow days. Each woman has her own preferences and whatever works best for your body is just fine!

Why Do Girls Get Periods
A period happens because of changes in hormones in the body. Hormones give messages to the body. These hormones cause the lining of the uterus to build up. This gets the uterus ready for an egg and sperm to attach and grow into a baby. If the woman does not get pregnant, the lining breaks down and bleeds. This same process happens every month. That is why most girls and women get their periods around once a month.

Do Transgender Guys Get A Period
Not everybody who gets a period identifies as a girl or woman. Transgender men and genderqueer people who have uteruses, vaginas, fallopian tubes, and ovaries also get their periods.
Having a period can be a stressful experience for some trans folks because it’s a reminder that their bodies dont match their true gender identity this discomfort and anxiety is sometimes called gender dysphoria. Other trans people might not be too bothered by their periods. Either reaction is normal and okay.
Sometimes trans people who havent reached puberty yet take hormones to prevent all of the gendered body changes that happen during puberty, including periods. And people who already get periods can use certain types of birth control that help lighten or stop their periods. Hormone replacement therapy, like taking testosterone, may also stop your period.
If you start taking testosterone, your period will go away. But this is reversible if you stop taking testosterone, your period will come back. There can be some changes in your menstrual cycle before it stops for good. Periods get lighter and shorter over time, or come when you dont expect it. You may have spotting or cramping every once in a while until you stop getting your period, and sometimes even after it seems to have stopped this is normal. Testosterone injections make your periods go away faster than testosterone cream.
How To Calculate How Much You Are Bleeding During Your Period
One fully soaked regular tampon or pad holds approximately 5 mL or 1 teaspoon of blood and a fully soaked super tampon holds 10 mL. A half soaked regular pad or tampon equals 2.5 mL and a half soaked super tampon holds 5 mL.
Make a note in your period tracking app every time you change your pad or tampon, period underwear or menstrual cup each day of your period to determine if you have a heavy period. If the number of fully soaked regular pads or tampons is more than 16, youve fully soaked regular flow period underwear more than three times a day, or youve changed a half full 30 mL menstrual cup more than six times in any given menstrual cycle, then you have a heavier than normal flow.

Youre Actually Pregnant And Have Placenta Previa

How Many Days Late Can Your Period Be
I had my period late by 6 days.. Can I be pregnant? A pregnancy test is the first option to use to be certain of this because many factors can lead to late periods and every menstrual cycle is different. Generally speaking, if you usually have a regular menstrual cycle, a period up to 10 days late can be normal.
Having a late period can be because of a number of reasons:
- Delayed ovulation can be caused because of anxiety or stress which can result in a late period.
- You can miss your period if you have gained or lost a lot of weight as well.
- Other factors like hormonal imbalance, effects of drugs can all lead to late period.
It is also important to ensure accurate counting of your cycles or you will wrongly assume that you have had a late period. The first day of the cycle is the first day bleeding occurs.
