Treatment Of Early Miscarriage
Not all miscarriages need treatment. The choice of whether to wait for the pregnancy to completely pass without any treatment is up to you. Our doctors are committed to providing options for all patients, including the pros and cons of all available options when miscarriage is diagnosed. All patients with Rh-negative blood, regardless of which option they choose, need treatment with Rh-immune globulin, an injection that prevents a woman from forming substances in her blood that may attack the baby during a future pregnancy.
When a diagnosis of miscarriage is made, options include:

Can I Use Scented Menstrual Products
The menstrual care aisle at the store can be overwhelming for many reasons. There are just so many different products, all claiming to be the key to an easier period. And, of course, there is the section of products with delicate floral scents, promising to hide all period smells.
If you want to avoid unpleasant menstrual odor, the best thing to do is to follow these basic hygiene steps:

When Should I Take A Pregnancy Test
For the most accurate results, it is best to wait two weeks after ovulation to take an at-home pregnancy test, even though you may feel early signs of pregnancy before your missed period. Home pregnancy tests measure hCG . You can use an at-home test when the test can measure the hCG in your urine, which is usually not high enough to show up on a test until you are expecting your period. False negatives are common with at-home pregnancy tests, so check with your healthcare provider if your period still has yet to arrive. A blood test will be administered to confirm pregnancy results.

Causes Of Vaginal Odor During Pregnancy
There are various reasons why you may be experiencing vaginal odor during pregnancy.
The physiologic vaginal discharge during pregnancy is known as leukorrhea. This is a thin, white discharge that feels wet. While you may feel like the odor slightly changes, it should not smell foul, and it should not itch or cause pain. Leukorrhea is caused by increased pregnancy hormones and blood flow to your reproductive organs.
Lets take a look at some of the most common causes:
When Should I Test
Home pregnancy tests can be very accurate , especially if you wait to test until after your period is officially late. Some tests claim to accurately detect pregnancy up to a week before your missed period, so if you’re experiencing some pregnancy symptoms and are champing at the bit, go for it.
You’re more likely to get an accurate test result if you wait until your period is late, according to the Mayo Clinic. That’s because the hormone that’s detected in home pregnancy tests, hCG, doubles every two to three days after an embryo attaches to your uterus, meaning there’s more to detect in your urine if you wait a few days.
Because this hormone can sometimes take a while to build up, false negative results aren’t uncommon in early pregnancy. It’s much more rare to get a false positive. If you get a positive test result, you are very likely pregnant or experienced a recent pregnancy loss, and can confirm the pregnancy through a blood test or ultrasound.

Stop And Smell The Roses
One of the signs that ovulation is imminent is a heightened sense of smell. For many women, smell becomes more sensitive during the latter half of their normal menstrual cycle. This is typically a sign of ovulation. The reason this happens is that the body is primed to be drawn to the male pheromone androstenone.
Other Causes Of Bleeding In Pregnancy
Other common causes of blood loss in early pregnancy are:
Implantation bleeding this is a small amount of spotting or bleeding, like a short, light period, that occurs very early in your pregnancy – about 10 to 14 days after fertilisation. It happens when the fertilised egg attaches to the lining of your uterus. Some women do not realise they are pregnant, because this spotting is easily confused with a light period. Usually the bleeding in early pregnancy is very light and will last from a few hours to a few days.
Cervical changes when youre pregnant, theres an increase in the blood supply and blood flow to your cervix. Your body is adapting to having a baby growing inside your tummy. This means you may experience light spotting after contact with the area, such as after sex or a pelvic examination.
Cervical infections some cervical infections may also cause spotting in early pregnancy.
Miscarriage bleeding in the early stages of pregnancy can sometimes be a sign of miscarriage. Miscarriage most occur often during the first 12 weeks. Although its perfectly natural to be alarmed and particularly nervous when you notice spotting during early pregnancy, remember that bleeding doesnt necessarily mean youre having a miscarriage.

Black Period Blood And Black Discharge
Menstrual blood can have different colors, although the most common is dark red.
You may experience black discharge at the beginning or end of your period.
At these times, bleeding is slow, which means the blood spends more time in the uterus, is oxidized and finally comes out as black. It is entirely normal to experience this during menstrual bleeding.

Myth No : You Lose A Lot Of Blood During Your Period
The Truth: This idea is pure fiction, girl. The average woman only loses about 2 to 3 tablespoons of blood during her period. Even if youre someone who experiences menorrhagia , your uterus still only releases about 4 tablespoons of blood.
Of course, there are outliers to these numbers. The only time to worry is if youre losing so much blood that its affecting your life. Going through more than seven tampons a day, bleeding for more than seven days, or becoming anemic are all signs that you could be losing too much blood and need to see your doctor. Remember, though, heavy bleeding isnt normal or healthy and most women do not lose even close to too much blood during their period.
Is White Discharge A Premenstrual Symptom
Yes, a thick, white, creamy discharge typically means your period is coming. Its the result of elevated levels of progesterone, a hormone governing both pregnancy and the menstrual cycle. This type of vaginal discharge is believed to be normal as long as it isnt lumpy or foul smelling. In contrast, when estrogen levels are on the rise, discharge is usually clear and stretchy.

- Banish that metallic taste with acids such as citrus juices like lemonade, or foods marinated in vinegar.
- Brush your tongue along with your teeth, and rinse with a mild salt or baking soda solution.
- Change your prenatal vitamin. Some cause metal mouth more than others.

How Can I Effectively Track My Basal Body Temperature
The process for basal body temperature tracking is simple, but it does require a small commitment.
- Every morning before getting out of bed, youll take your temperature and note it on a chart. You can use a special thermometer designed for basal body temperature, or a digital oral thermometer. You can take an oral, vaginal, or rectal reading. Just be sure to use the same method each time.
- Take your temperature as close to the same time every day as you can. That may mean youll have to set an alarm clock. You should try to stay within 30 minutes of your average time. You should have a minimum of five hours of sleep before measuring.
- Plot the thermometer number on a chart. You can use a fertility tracking app, or track it yourself on graph paper. Over time, a pattern may begin to emerge. Look for a change in your recorded temperature of about 0.4 degrees over a 48-hour period. When this shift stays constant for three days or longer, its likely an indication of ovulation.
- Plan to have sex on your most fertile days. About two days before you expect your basal body temperature to rise, youll be at your most fertile. Keep in mind that sperm can survive for up to five days inside your body. You should aim to have sex on your fertile days.
- Be careful if youre trying to avoid getting pregnant. If youre tracking your basal body temperature to avoid pregnancy, dont have sex from the first day of your period until several days after your basal body temperature number rises.
